This traditional mask is hand painted with bright beautiful matt colours such as green, white, black, red and yellow. It has a ferocious face with bulging, popping & staring eyes, lolling tongue out of a wide mouth armed to the hilt with set of fanged teeth, all topped by a beautifully featured peacock crown hood.

This mask represents three beautifully featured peacocks one on its crown and  other two  on sides (ears).

It is believed that this mask bring peace, harmony and wealth to house or business while ward off evil spirit and ghosts. This mask often used in Sri Lankan household as a wall decor and often used by Sri Lankan dances in stage drama. ( “kolam” dance ).
